ORIGINS OF OLLIN AL-MITHAL

“Ollin” is Náhuatl for movement, sacred motion, the energy of transformation.

“Al-Mithal” is Arabic, referring to the Imaginal Realm—the world accessed by mystics and prophets.

Together, Ollin al-Mithal is a practice of movement and the imaginal, body and dream—where your inner world guides you toward outer metamorphosis.

Movement & the Imaginal Body

Ollin is more than movement. It is pulsation, oscillation, and transformation at the heart of all living things. It is the flutter of wings, the beat of a laboring heart, the rhythmic movement of threads on a loom, the trembling moment before an earthquake reshapes the land. It is the spiral path of change in all its fourfold phases—birth, growth, death, rebirth.

Alam Al-Mithāl is a place between matter and spirit. It is not fantasy or metaphor, but a subtle world where images have substance, presence, and intelligence. Here, dreams, symbols, and inner figures are expressions of a deeper reality—they carry insight and initiate change. Here, meaning unfolds not through analysis, but through direct engagement with the imaginal—a kind of seeing that involves the whole self.

OLLIN AL-MITHAL

Together, Ollin al-Mithal evokes the living current of the work I offer: a practice of movement and the imaginal, body and vision—where the inner world becomes a guide to personal and creative metamorphosis.

Movement provides the momentum to act, explore, and shift. The imaginal realm offers the depth, clarity, and symbolic knowing to guide that movement with purpose and soul.

I bring in creative work, art, poetry, theatre, and other somatic practices. As a soon-to-be certified yoga practitioner, currently working on my trauma-informed yoga certification, I am uniquely able to braid these approaches to support both personal growth and creative projects.

Whether you’re navigating change, healing old wounds, or working on a creative project, we enter together into the inner terrain—where images speak, the body listens, and transformation unfolds from within.
